Care

A squishy lasts far longer with a little care. Here is everything worth knowing.

Safety first

  • Not for children under 3. Keep them away from babies and toddlers, who may put them in their mouths.
  • Choking hazard. Some squishies contain small beads, blocks or googly eyes that can come loose if the outer skin is torn. Supervise younger children, and throw the item away if it splits open.
  • Not food. Do not bite, chew or put a squishy in your mouth, and don't let pets chew them.
  • If it tears or leaks, stop using it. The filling isn't meant to be handled — wash your hands if it gets on your skin, and keep it away from eyes and mouths.
  • Sensitivities. Our squishies are made from TPR and silicone-based materials and may contain mineral oil or fragrance. If you have a known sensitivity, email us before ordering and we'll tell you exactly what's in a specific item.

Everyday use

Squeeze, stretch and knead it as much as you like — that is what it is for. The one thing that will eventually tear is pulling hard against a seam, a sticker or a googly eye, so go gently around those. These are made for gentle sensory squeezing, not rough play: hard squeezing, twisting, pulling, poking or anything sharp will damage them.

Keeping it clean

  • Wipe with a damp cloth and a drop of mild soap, then let it air dry.
  • Do not soak it, and do not put it in the washing machine or dishwasher.
  • Skip alcohol, acetone and harsh household cleaners — they dull the surface and break down the coating.

Keeping it out of the heat

Keep it away from direct sun, radiators, hot cars and hair dryers. Heat makes the material sweat and lose its slow rebound. If it does get warm and tacky, ten minutes in the fridge brings it straight back.

Crunchy squishies

The crunchy ones get noticeably louder and cracklier after a spell in the fridge — plenty of people prefer them that way. Cold also helps them hold their shape for longer.

If it feels sticky

Some squishies ship with a light dusting of powder so they don't stick together in the bag. If yours feels tacky, a very light dusting of cornstarch will sort it out.

Storing them

Keep them out of a hot car and away from anything with a sharp edge. A drawer or a box is ideal — cool, dark and out of the way.

Handmade, so not identical

Every piece is poured and finished by hand. Small differences in colour, shape, surface detail and filling distribution — including tiny air bubbles and the odd dust fibre — are part of that process and aren't defects.

No warranty on normal wear

These are soft, stretchy objects and they will eventually show it. Scuffs, nicks, small tears and a duller surface are normal with heavy use, and we can't offer a warranty against them. What we do stand behind is the item arriving in good condition — see Shipping & Returns for how to report a problem within 48 hours of delivery.

If something goes wrong

If a seam splits, the filling escapes, or it arrives faulty, email tiarobysierra@gmail.com within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and a photo or short video. We'll replace it or refund you. Full details on the Shipping & Returns page.
